Come to Tasmania the Wonderland
This is an exhibition of twelve lithograph posters designed to promote Tasmanian tourism
during the 1920s – 1950s. These are
beautiful images. Our very own Max Angus is represented in the collection. It’s a sweet little gallery too. You can download
the images and have your own poster made!
Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts, Ground floor, 91 Murray
Opened 9 – 5 weekdays, 9 – 2 Saturday and closed public holidays and
Saturday’s your best bet for this exhibition.
The Hobart icon, MONA has been hosting a Saturday market 'MOMA' since
It finishes on 14 April. Get out there while it’s still on.
|It’s on the roof, you can’t miss it. You can
make a day of it. There’s food, there’s
wine and well, there’s that impressive museum.|
Note - Ange is slightly obsessed with the Mini Mouse hands MOMA use as tie-downs for their tents - ok totally obsessed!
You could even take the ferry from Brook Street Pier to complete the
experience. Check the website for the
Markets Saturday 12.30 – 5 pm Museum Wednesday – Monday, 10 - 6
Head down to the Huon. It’s a
beautiful drive. You can stop where you fancy on the way. There’s plenty to do depending on how much

just for a nice lunch at either The Lotus Eaters or Red Velvet Lounge in
Friendly suggestion, make sure you make a reservation. These guys are out-of-control popular. And so they should be, the food comes with RAVE reviews. Tip: To die for Baked Vanilla Cheesecake at The Lotus Eaters.
The Lotus Eaters, 10 Mary Street Cygnet (that's the main road)
Red Velvet Lounge, 24 Mary Street Cygnet. They've got their own website and product diversification
You can take the Channel way home and visit Randall’s Bay. Go for a walk along the beach. Pick up some farmer’s gate produce along the return route.
