The brightest star in Hobart’s
‘now’ places with a voluminous menu. Get started with antipasto served
individually or specially priced - any five is $36 or ten is $68 - like baked
meatballs with Napoletana sauce; arancini, three cheeses with mushroom; or pickled
baby calamari. ‘Guilt-free’ pizzas, gourmet toppings without the cheese and
dough-overload. Try fettuccini aglio olio, breadcrumbs and garlic, $24; or
boscaiola with chicken and confit of garlic cream sauce, $26. Desserts are
for the serious sweet-tooth.
Make a reservation so you’re not
disappointed.

Skewered meat cooked over a
charcoal grill is a universal language. In Japanese, it’s yakitori. Three
Japanese is a stylish, casual eatery with excellent service. Japanese
ingredients are imported for authenticity and perishables are sourced locally
and daily. Try Tsukemono (Japanese pickles), $10; Yaki-onigiri (rice ball),
$10; and of course, the Kushi Set, five skewers, choice of meat and/or
vegetables, $20.
Reservations recommended.
